We've bought and sold many sailboats over the years and most dealer experiences have left us underwhelmed. Many dealers haven't even sailed, let alone lived aboard, the boats they are trying to sell. Our approach is different. We have been through every stage of the design and build process of our own Excess 14 catamaran, and we've sailed her over 15,000 miles in the last year. When we speak about these boats, it's from real world experience, not a brochure.
We'll be at your side throughout the entire journey, helping you select the right options, recommending smart upgrades, and connecting you with trusted aftermarket installers. Concerned about financing or navigating the insurance minefield? We've been through it ourselves and can guide you with confidence.
We go the extra mile. A Nautilus Captain will fly out to join you for a full 5 days during handover - champagne included! We'll walk through every system, help you get comfortable with daily operations, and spend time practicing docking, mooring, anchoring and sailing. You'll have an experienced Nautilus instructor by your side to ensure you get the absolute most out of your new catamaran.
Many dealers disappear the moment the boat is yours. We take the opposite approach. We're in this for the long haul and will be here to support you with warranty claims, replacement parts, and any questions that come up as you begin your sailing adventure.

The truth is, you absolutely need to sail a catamaran and live aboard (for at least a few days) before deciding if it’s the right fit for you. We offer week-long intensive liveaboard courses on Excess catamarans around the world, leading to American Sailing Association 101, 103, 104 and ASA 114 certifications. You can join us aboard an Excess catamaran to experience these catamarans first hand in the Grenadines, Croatia and Tahiti.
