The Trip
This is a learning vacation. The emphasis is on learning how to sail, through hands-on experience, in a beautiful part of the world. Mornings will typically be spent learning and practicing new skills. In the afternoons we will set sail, enjoying the backdrop of spectacular beaches and islands of the Grenadines, refining skills along the way. Once anchored for the afternoon, there will be free time to spend exploring, snorkeling, fishing, and relaxing…

Why Grenada and the Grenadines?
After sailing in other popular Caribbean destinations (like the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas), we fell in love with the Grenadines. The "Spice Islands" offer a perfect blend of culture, dramatic landscapes, friendly people, abundant marine life, and unspoiled beaches. Ideal sailing conditions, and the lack of crowds, make this an excellent place to conduct our liveaboard courses. We highly recommend spending an extra couple of days, either before or after your trip, to explore this unique destination. Whether exploring St. George (the historic and colorful capital), diving the reefs, taking in a rum distillery tour, visiting a cacao plantation, driving through the dense jungle to mountain waterfalls, or touring the island in a rental car, there is lots to see and do.
The Boats
We use Bavaria sailboats ranging in size from 39 feet to 42 feet. These are newer, spacious sailboats, with all the amenities one would expect to find on sailboats in charter fleets around the world. Our boat will have 3 cabins, 2 heads /bathrooms, a large kitchen and dining area, a cockpit with bimini for shade, and a dinghy with outboard motor for exploring. All participants are given a private cabin during their stay on the boat. We save the spacious owners’ cabin for couples that sign up for the course.

Sailing Course Curriculum
During our time aboard the boat, we will cover and practice all of the following skills in depth. Having a whole week on the boat, and a maximum of 4 students, means that you will have a wealth of opportunities to apply each of these skills, so that by the end of the trip you will be confident and competent in every area.

As topics are covered, we will give ASA tests for levels 101, 103 and 104 for your formal certification. All of the material found in the tests will have been covered in depth, and students should have no trouble passing.

Course Instructors
All of our liveaboard courses are taught by excellent instructors, with a wealth of sailing experience. Nautilus Sailing instructors are knowledgeable, patient and dynamic teachers. They are able to tailor instruction to meet students diverse learning needs and styles. Passionate about sailing and adventure, they love helping others embark on their own sailing journeys.
